Travel
One of the reasons for Chamonix Mont Blanc’s popularity as a year round holiday resort is its accessibility to Geneva Airport.
Well-renowned operators like Easyjet, British Airways & Globespan fly from a large choice of UK airports to Geneva, and once you arrive it is only an hour’s drive up the motorway to the heart of the resort.
Our catered winter holidays offer a free transfer service from the Airport to the resort and complimentary in-resort transfers to the slopes each day. Special trips are also available on request such as a drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Courmayeur or to the local ice hockey stadium for a night out.
Summer guests can either book transfers through ourselves for £25 per person per week or arrange their own way. Here are some suggestions to help you with this.
Airport Transfer Service:
To get from Geneva Airport to Chamonix, you can book Shared or Private Transfers at the cost of approximately £30 per person each way. This can be done through a company called ATS who will be happy to organise your journey from Geneva and other nearby destinations, you can contact them direct - Airport Transfer Service.
By Car:
Chamonix is easily accessible by car should you wish to drive. You can plan your road trip online with Via Michelin or Google maps. All the well known vehicle hire companies have sales desks within the airport terminals and can be easily booked online. There is comfortable parking at the chalet for four cars.
Travel to Chamonix by Train:
Chamonix has its own train station (Chamonix Mont-Blanc) with connections to the SNCF lines from St Gervais/Le Fayet and Vallorcine. There are also links to the TGV service at Annecy. Check out the SNCF website for timetables and booking details. There is no direct service to Chamonix from Geneva so we do not recommend this to our guests.
Transport in Resort:
Once you are in the resort you will find that you can walk easily to the town centre and take advantage of the free bus service available. For our winter holiday guests there is, of course, the complimentary in-resort transfers to the slopes each day. Just ask your friendly chalet host if you need advice.
